Changing the terminology of teen sexuality
Does the word “abstinence” truly reflect what we’re trying to teach teens about sexuality? Some suggest the word “postponement” as a substitute–thanks for the tip Joyce!
I like the new term. It suggests that abstinence now is only one piece of the bigger puzzle of human sexuality that God has given us. And it’s less politically-charged.
What do you think?

I like the words “Just Not Yet”
I constantly stress to my students that it’s not about ‘abstinence’, ‘not doing it’, ‘postponement’, or anything else other than choosing to honor God with all of their lives. My experience has been that students respond much more to ‘this is what you should do’ than to ‘this is what you shouldn’t do’.
@JoetheYouthPastor, great points. I like your approach.
